How can we help?

Find answers about your data, your CSV, pricing and using a template.

Your data and privacy

Do I need to upload my full spreadsheet?

No. You design with sanitized sample data, such as made-up rows or rows with anything sensitive removed, and what you submit while designing can reach the service. Your real CSV is loaded later, in the downloaded template on your own computer, and the template does not send it back. See the rules for a clean sample.

Who checks that the numbers are right?

You do. The template applies the calculations you set to whatever CSV you load, and it does not validate the data. When you review, click any figure to see the records behind it.

Can I share a dashboard without sharing the data?

No. The dashboard is the template plus a CSV, so anyone who opens it needs both. The template holds no data, so you can keep it separate. A PDF report is different: it carries the figures, and the records if you include them, so share it as carefully as the CSV.

Your CSV

What file types can I use?

The design workflow uses CSV. Export a single worksheet or table from Excel, Google Sheets, or another spreadsheet tool as a CSV file.

Why is a card blank after I load a CSV?

A column may be missing or contain the wrong kind of value. Check the required column names, dates, and number formatting against the sample rules. Check your file against the rules.

What if my columns change?

The template expects the same columns as your sample CSV, and the downloaded file lists them. If your export changes on purpose, update the template in the online editor and download a new copy.

Pricing, templates and the Editor

What am I buying?

A reusable template downloaded as one all-in-one HTML file. Add a matching CSV and it creates the dashboard. The template is yours to keep.

What does it cost?

Preview free for 14 days. One reusable template is $559 one time, with a month of Editor included. Editor is the online designer, $69 a month, and you only need it when you change the layout. The downloaded template keeps working without it. See all pricing.

What is the Editor, and when do I need it?

The Editor is the online workspace: AI generation and smart edits, the visual editor, and downloads. You need it while you build or change a template. Templates you already downloaded keep working without it; they never expire or phone home.

To edit a template you downloaded earlier, just add Editor time again. Editor monthly is $69 a month and renews every month until you cancel; cancel any time from the Billing page and the months you have paid for stay. Editor annual is $690 a year for twelve months of Editor; it renews every 12 months until you cancel before the renewal date.

Is this priced per user?

No. Templates are priced per template, and the Editor is priced per account per month — not by the number of people in your organisation.

How do I add more templates?

An additional template slot is $490, one time, yours to keep. It never includes Editor time: build on it during your current Editor month, or buy an Editor pass when you are ready. A Studio Pack adds 5 slots and three build months at once.

How do the AI allowances work?

Your AI allowance belongs to your account, however many templates you own. It is one balance of AI credits: a dashboard generation or an AI edit uses 1 credit.

Free plan: 15 credits, one time.

Build months (included with a Single or Studio plan): 50 credits per month, 10 more than a regular Editor month, granted upfront as one total. A Studio Pack starts you off with 150 credits across its 3 months.

Editor months you add later (monthly or annual): 40 credits, refreshed each month. Unused credits don’t roll over.

Purchased credits: an AI top-up ($29) adds 25 credits, and each template slot comes with 3. They are used after your credits for the period run out, while your Editor access is active. Top-up credits expire one year after purchase (oldest used first, and My Templates shows when); slot credits never expire. You can hold up to 500 purchased credits.

Using a template

Do I need IT, or an account, to use a template?

No. You design in the browser and download one HTML template file. There is nothing to install and no server to run, and colleagues can open it in a supported browser without a csv.design account. If your company reviews software first, your IT team can scan that one file themselves. It is self-contained with no external references, so they can confirm for themselves that it makes no requests to upload your data. Follow your organization’s rules for where the template and CSV may be stored.

What if the dashboard doesn't render properly on my computer?

Every free template in the gallery has a real, downloadable sample dashboard - in both a Standard and a Corporate-compatible version, for locked-down or managed browsers. Download one and open it on your own computer before you buy. This is a useful compatibility check, but results can vary with your browser, template features, and data. If a purchased template does not render correctly, contact us through the Contact us page and choose Technical support.
